Luzon Banknotes
ART365 | Spring 2021
Photoshop, Illustrator
I designed two banknotes inspired by an alternative history where each major island group in the Philippines has its own currency. I focused my design on the island of Luzon, respecting the indigenous tribes of the Ifugao and the Aeta people and using them as the focal point of the banknote. Imagery of notable landscapes including the Banaue Rice Terraces and Mount Pinatubo decorate the background of the horizontal side. Activities and traditions decorate the vertical side. Patterns and textures are used to create depth and visual cohesion.
